The Social Security Administration (SSA) No-Match letters warn companies that the numbers of social security of their employees do not match with their archives. 70% of no matches belong to U.S. citizens. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) wants to use these letters to force the employers to dismiss the affected workers regardless of citizenship. Meanwhile, the SSA refuses to protect the privacy of our social security numbers!
The SSA was created to help and to protect workers, not to hurt them. We demand that Social Security protect our privacy and stop sending No Match letters to employers.
